Junior Glass Match Sanssouci 2012 – International Glass School Competition

Between March 30 and April 1 the premises of the Spa Resort Sanssouci, Karlovy Vary, will welcome the fifth year of a competition that brings together students of vocational, secondary as well as higher glass design and glass making schools.
Public exhibition of all competition works will be open on Saturday, March 31 from 10:00 until 18:00. Admission free. Exhibited works will be displayed in the Atrium of the Spa Resort Sanssouci (the Green House).
Like in previous years the competition will welcome competitors from various countries. 60 students from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia have enrolled. Considering the warmth welcome of the competition in the past and the serious involvement of the participating schools, we anticipate the high quality of competition. Students will compete in 2 categories (juniors and seniors). In each category 3 awards will be granted plus a special award for craftsmanship.
The gala award ceremony will be held on Saturday March 31. at 19:00.
The competition is organized by Imperial Karlovy Vary a.s.. The competition board will be chaired by Milan Hlaveš of Prague`s Museum of decorative arts. Competition Director is Jaroslav Polanecký of the Faculty of Art and design of Palackz University, Ústí nad Labem.
Selected competition works will be exhibited in the Sun Gallery in the Sanssouci from April 20 until July 14, 2012.
